Para Gonzalo Rojas-May, hijo del poeta chileno Gonzalo Rojas, quien murió ayer, el regalo más grande que dejó su padre es la “libertad y el amor, el amor por la libertad, la libertad en el amor”.
Durante las exequias del vate chileno, a las que han acudido centenares de personas, entre ellos los dirigentes del Partido por la Democracia -en el que el literato militó- y el escritor colombiano Juan Manuel Roca, Rojas-May manifestó que su padre estaría muy contento de que éste último estuviera presente, ya que siempre fue su “gran apuesta”.

El poeta chileno Gonzalo Rojas, quien recibió el Premio Miguel de Cervantes en 2003, falleció este lunes a los 93 años de edad tras sufrir el 22 de febrero pasado un accidente cerebrovascular, informó la familia del escritor en Santiago de Chile.
El también Premio Nacional de Literatura 1992 vivía en Chillán, distante 400 kilómetros al sur de Santiago, donde permaneció los primeros días tras el agravamiento en su estado de salud, pero el 12 de marzo pasado fue trasladado a esta capital.

Con la intención de ofrecer un premio que “de cuenta de los cambios ocurridos en la comunidad literaria”, se inaugura la primera edición del Premio Iberoamericano de Narrativa Las Américas, el cual será celebrado el próximo mes durante los festejos del Segundo Festival de la Palabra en el País con sede en el Cuartel de Ballajá, ubicado Puerto Rico.
El jurado presidido por el escritor boliviano Edmundo Paz Soldán e integrado por la puertorriqueña Yolanda Arrozo Pizarro, más siete personalidades del mundo literario, anunciaron la selección de los cinco finalistas del certamen auspiciado por Plaza Las Américas y la fundación Fonadellas, a la mejor obra publicada en español durante el 2010. El ganador recibirá un estímulo económico, anuncio que se publicará el 7 de mayo.

La voz de lectores de la palabra impresa conmemoraron de forma anticipada el Día Mundial del Libro (celebrado el 23 de abril) y los 10 años del fallecimiento de Juan José Arreola (1918-2001), autor jalisciense leído por segunda ocasión durante la jornada organizada por la Feria Internacional del Libro (FIL) y el ayuntamiento de Guadalajara.
Al citar el prólogo de la antología “Lectura en voz alta”, de Juan José Arreola, el escritor Fernando del Paso expresó: “No sé de ningún tratado que nos ayude a leer en voz alta, sólo el ejemplo de quienes saben hacerlo y resucitan de viva voz el sentimiento y la melodía que bulleron el alma de los autores, sirve de algo”.
